As a young boy Craig Starkey came to the store for equipment for his many Boy Scout camping trips, and soon became a friend to the staff here. To the point when in his senior year at Milford High he came to work part-time at Nature Outfitters.
He had a quiet confidence, an easy going nature, and a great sense of humor that made him fit right in to the outdoor retail world. I remember his response to any situation or challenge was met with a "No Problem" comment that made him easy to work with.
A few days before he was to go on a summer trip with friends. He gave me a shuttle for a day trip i was doing on the river. We had a nice one on one conversation. I admired his insight and goals. For someone so young he was much more together and wiser than I was at that age. And I admired him for that.
Five years ago Craig went on that trip with his friends, but he did'nt come back to us. A car accident took Craig and his friend away from us to soon. After his death I discovered even more about Craig. What a gifted poet he was and heard numerous stories of his thoughtfulness and caring to others. I still think fondly of Craig. On camping trips I recall how much he enjoyed nature. My wife and I are going on a canoe camping trip to the Boundary Waters this summer. I think i will dedicate the trip to my friend Craig.
Here's to the spirit of loved one's who have gone on ahead of us. You are always in our hearts.

Tim, well said. I am in complete agreement. Craig Starkey was an incredible young man and is still missed. God bless. Vince
