Summer began June 21st at 1:45 AM.
As a major celestial event, the summer solstice results in the longest day of the year. Awed by the great power of the sun, civilizations have for centuries celebrated the first day of summer.
The Celts and Slavs celebrated with dancing and bonfires to help increase the sun's energy. Many of our local earthworks and mounds from the Native Americans line up to the solstice.
Here's to a great Summer everyone! How ever you chose to celebrate get outdoors and enjoy it.
Naturally Yours, Tim
