Wenonah
> Recreational Canoes
Wenonah is quite possibly the finest Fiberglass, Kevlar and Carbon
Fiber hulls ever designed. Luckily for us in the "rocky river
and stream" section of the country Wenonah developed Royalex
versions of their designs and did so incredibly well. Tight entry
and exit lines, stable, efficient and all in a indestructable material
make for a canoe that will surely be the envy of every outing. |

Designed for families
and sportsmen, the Fisherman is a stable platform for outdoor
enjoyment. Short and wide, the Fisherman delivers easy turning
and lots of initial stability. Its relatively flat bottom is
very steady on fair waters, and its broad beam draws just inches.
The easy control and shallow draught give access to areas that
would be difficult for other craft, even many other canoes.
Being that it is a stable, small hull, the Fisherman is an ideal
choice for camps or at a lake cabin where kids will often use
it. Since youngsters are light, they find it to be a fine paddling
canoe that's also safe on waves due to its depth.
Adults, however, like the Fisherman for wildlife viewing,
star-gazing, or other uses that do not include big waves,
heavy loads, or long travel. It's often used by one or two
people for hunting or fishing. (If you go alone, a good way
is to sit in the bow seat facing the stern. This puts you
closer to the center of the canoe. It also may help to place
tackle or other gear ahead of you to achieve proper trim.)

Fisherman built from ultra-durable Royalex
at 57 lb. While the Fisherman isn't meant for serious whitewater
requiring ultimate impact resistance, the Royalex version
can be a wise choice to travel shallow, rocky streams.
Designed for stability not speed, the Fisherman
still outperforms any other 14' canoe, and delivers this performance
even though it has exceptional maneuvering.

The Heron is a compact utility canoe with an excellent blend
of efficiency, stability and capacity.
Based on our popular Spirit II, the Heron is a short utility
canoe that is excellent for casual activities on calm, local
waters. This type of canoe is often preferred by people who
aren't paddling enthusiasts, but who use a canoe occasionally
for a variety of purposes. When we designed the Heron we wanted
to prove that a well thought out recreation design can be
pleasant to paddle as well as functional.
The Heron's blend of stability, efficiency, and capacity makes
it truly useful in a broad range
of situations. Stable enough

for less experienced paddlers to use comfortably,
the Heron's performance makes traveling longer distances practical,
including one or two day trips. The Heron tracks better and
is more efficient than our Fisherman. While its shorter length
makes it suitable for twisting streams and occasional light
rapids.
If you occasionally spend time on marshes
and waterways by yourself, you might add a center seat for
solo paddling, or reversing the canoe and paddling solo from
the bow seat, stern first.
A stable and maneuverable 15' utility canoe,
the Heron is also highly-responsive and delivers more canoeing
pleasure than is typical of other hulls of this type.

The Kingfisher is designed specificially to deliver rock-solid
stability for fishing, hunting, photography and other recreational
activities. While this is a highly-steady, maneuverable canoe,
the Kingfisher has surprisingly good performance as well.
An extremely stable, mid-sized recreational design, the Kingfisher
is excellent for hunting and fishing, birdwatching, wildlife
and nature photography, or simply exploring your local backwaters.
While rock-solid stability is a major
appeal of this Dave Kruger design, the Kingfisher has surprisingly
good performance as well.

Similar in concept to
our popular Fisherman, the Kingfisher is an inch wider and
a full two feet longer. Not only is the Kingfisher more comfortable
for larger paddlers, its extra length also gives it better
efficiency, and improved capacity. And while it is not as
maneuverable as the Fisherman, the Kingfisher's 16 foot length
is still easy for most paddlers to manage.
We offer the Kingfisher in three composite
constructions that deliver excellent performance. At just
39 lbs., our Kevlar Ultra-light construction is excellent
when light weight is the highest priority; our Kevlar Flex-core
at 51 lbs. withstands more rugged use, while the Tuf-weave
Flex-core version delivers fine performance at an economical
price. We also build the Kingfisher in Royalex which can be
a wise choice if you will often paddle in shallow rocky conditions.
The Kingfisher's outstanding combination
of stability and efficiency make this an extraordinary canoe
for both new paddlers and seasoned outdoor adventurers who
desire a super-stable sporting canoe.

> Sandpiper |

|
|
|
|
|
|
 |
A lighthearted craft for smaller paddlers, and low-key exploring
on quiet waters.
While most owners will use the Sandpiper for low-key paddling,
it has sophisticated applications as well.
At 13'6" long with 1 1/4" of rocker, this is a very
agile solo that steers easily with no special strokes. While
longer hulls will conquer distances better, this one is ideal
for exploring closer to home.
The Sandpiper is only moderately wide
but is full from bow to stern, giving good stability and volume
for its size. Though not big enough for trips, it holds plenty
of gear for fishing and casual pursuits.

The Sandpiper is manageable and enjoyable
for new paddlers, and its small size makes this canoe very
easy to car-top and carry, and convenient to store.
The Sandpiper also substitutes for a small
touring kayak by using a double-blade paddle. It tracks and
turns well this way, is lighter than a kayak, allows easier
entry and has more room for gear.
A fine choice for backpacking to mountain
lakes or other remote areas, the Royalex Sandpiper weighs
just 39 lbs. Few canoes are lighter, and those don't equal
its smooth performance and / or its rugged durability. For
the very lightest weight, choose our Graphite Ultra-light
construction at an astounding 22 lbs.
Ideal for smaller paddlers and tighter
waters, the Sandpiper has performance and volume that surpass
its size. Those looking for a small, responsive canoe will
be well served by the Sandpiper, or its larger cousin, the
Vagabond.

The Vagabond is a medium-small recreational solo that's easy
to handle and has enough capacity for few-day trips.
Based on our popular recreational solo, the Sandpiper, the
Vagabond is a small, maneuverable canoe for sight-seeing,
fishing, or exploring on moderate waters.
A foot longer than its
cousin, the Sandpiper, the Vagabond travels more efficiently
and tracks better. Though quick, it's still quite nimble,
and can carve a turn nearly as well as the Sandpiper.
It also has better initial and secondary stability
than the Sandpiper. Those who fish also like the solid "feel"

Vagabond has while casting.
The Vagabond's increased capacity gives it
more room to stow gear, making it better suited for short
trips than the Sandpiper. Larger paddlers also appreciate
the added comfort, especially when pushing the seasons or
in rough water.
Like the Sandpiper, the Vagabond responds
well when used with a kayak paddle for improved performance
on calm water or for better control in inclement weather.
The Vagabond is lighter than any kayak of comparable length
and when paddled this way, will also easily outperform a kayak
of similar size.
A longer hull will haul more, track straighter,
and easily outpace a canoe of this size, but a smaller boat
has other appealing virtues. One obvious advantage is light
weight; a small canoe is easy to portage and to lift onto
you car. Also, a smaller boat takes less storage space. Quick
turning is another advantage. The Vagabond delivers all of
these virtues, yet has enough efficiency and capacity to be
enjoyable in a variety of conditions.
The Vagabond is the perfect canoe for
the solo paddler who prefers a small boat, but one with an
extra margin of comfort.
